urbs in Leinno. Steph. nunc Cochio, plane deserta, et destructa. Est etiam vicus in tribu Acamantide, ubi Vulcani templum erat: Tribules Hephaestiades. Steph. iuxta hunc vicum collisest, Vulcani, ut creditur, casu nobilitatus. Ferunt enim, Vulcanum a Iunone, ob insignem deformitatem, e caelo praecipitatum, in collem illum decidisse. Cuius fabulae occasio inde sumpta est, quod totus hic collis combusto simillimus videatur, neque planta ulla in eo giguatur. Ex hoc colle effodiebatur terra Lemnia, Dioscoridis et Galenis scriptis maxime celebrata, Plin. l. 4. c. 12.
